Your gift provides more opportunities to read, learn, connect & create!
For more than 200 years, Monroe County Public Library has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. In 2023, we opened the doors to the new Southwest Branch, expanding access and opportunity for people of all ages to learn and grow. You can provide critical support to the life-changing work of your public library. With your gift, the Library can:
- Develop print and digital collections to become more responsive to community needs including increased access to ebooks and e-audiobooks, and a wider breadth of titles across print collections
- Enhance and diversify high-caliber programs that nurture literacy, the imagination, and lifelong learning such as STEAM programs, hands-on interactive experiences for all ages, intergenerational and digital creativity opportunities
- Support life skills and sustainability efforts through library programming like the seed library and the teaching kitchen in the new Southwest Branch
- Invest in meaningful “Library of Things” collections including book club kits, musical instruments, mobile video production kits, mobility devices (crutches, walkers, etc), baking kits, role-playing game kits, and other non-traditional circulating items
- Facilitate teen leadership, creativity, collaborative work, quiet study, and recreation by providing space and resources for teens to make, create, and hang out
